Following their U.S. debut at the San Francisco International Arts Festival, Montreal-based artistic collective Cirquantique will bring the all-encompassing theatrical experience “BANG! BANG!” to Livermore for one performance only. Keep reading to learn more.
An overview of Cirquantique
Cirquantique produces immersive cultural events featuring artists from a wide range of backgrounds and disciplines who share their talent and expertise in the worlds of the circus, burlesque, theatre, dance, electronic, and live music, as well as stage and costume design. With Cirquantique, you can expect a show that presents a unique and complex atmosphere through narratives that carry both contemporary and historical social themes.
An exhilarating combination of cabaret, burlesque, circus, aerial and trapeze dance, “BANG! BANG!” evokes the Prohibition era through music, animation, scenery, and costume design. Those in attendance are transported to a roaring Twenties world of sensational physical and visual art. Prepare yourself for a spellbinding evening of transgression and rebellion against false temperance in a parallel universe where speakeasies proliferate, bootlegging is rampant, and the black market rules.
We should also mention that Cirquantique has worked with peers and groups such as Cirque du Soleil, sharing ideas while building unique shows that dazzle and delight the eye.
This dazzlingly daring cabaret takes place Tuesday, June 5th at 7:30 p.m. at the Bankhead Theater. Tickets cost anywhere from $20 to $30. Please note this performance is Rated R, meaning no one under age 17 will be admitted.
We invite all audience members to dress up in accordance with the show’s themes. Something else to look forward to with Cirquantique is that artists interact with the crowd during the pre-show, intermission, and afterward. Doing so creates a festive ambiance both on stage and in the theater.
The Premier Performing Arts Center
If you’ve never been to the Bankhead Theater, then it’s time to start planning your visit. For more than a decade, the Bankhead has welcomed a wide range of artists and audiences. We understand what it means for Livermore residents to share the rich experience of live performance.

There’s no question that exposure to the performing arts can be life-changing. Even just one performance has the potential to ignite a child’s imagination and fuel creativity for the rest of their life.
Perhaps you’re wondering about the cost to attend most events. Here’s the thing: our arts center strives to make our performances affordable for everyone. That’s why we are proud to offer student and military tickets for $17.
It’s worth mentioning the Livermore Valley Performing Arts Center is an independent 501(c)3 non-profit offering wide-ranging programs that provide access to the arts for residents throughout the Tri-Valley area. Along with the Bothwell Arts Center, the Bankhead Theater is home to eight resident companies and more than 40 studio artists and cultural arts instructors.
