Bankhead Presents: The Drifters
Enjoy the beloved songs of the 1950s as The Drifters deliver classic hits such as “Up on the Roof,” “There Goes My Baby,” “This Magic Moment,” “Save the Last Dance for Me,” and “Under the Boardwalk,” the most played R&B song of all time. The group’s five decade musical journey has included no fewer than five legendary lead singers, including Rock & Roll Hall of Famers Clyde McPhatter and Ben E. King. They were the first musical group to incorporate string instruments into R&B music, the first musical group to sell two million records and, along with fellow inductees the Rolling Stones, the Beatles, Bob Dylan and the Supremes, the Drifters were in the first class of Rock & Roll legends to be initiated into the Hall of Fame and the first African American group to be inducted. Now on tour with a lineup of veteran and new voices, they’ll thrill fans with all the favorites and more.
“The Drifters’ distinctive brand of feel-good pop songs remains addictive, soulful and thoroughly entertaining.” – Southern Daily Echo
